“Classification techniques for subalgebras in reductive Lie algebras. Example: subalgebras in G_2”
We describe the technique of classifying arbitrary (not necessarily semisimple) subalgebras in reductive Lie algebras based on the notion of a splitting subalgebra and a splitting hull of a subalgebra. As an example, we outline how to classify all subalgebras in G_2 up to conjugation.
