Maritn Rypdal "Self-Organized Criticality and Dynamical Systems - II".

We study the dynamical system defined in the last talk, focusing on properties related to the natural invariant measure. Lyapunov exponents are introduced, and they are related to the entropy and avalanche size using the Sinai-Pesin-Ledrappier-Young formula. Moreover I will propose how one through symbolic coding of the dynamics, can construct a thermodynamic formalism for the Zhang model.  I will point out the open problems that must be resolved for this approach is possible.
